In June 2022, ClearLead, an international energy & sustainability consulting company, joined SLR.

Since 2012, ClearLead has helped its commercial, industrial and public sector clients reduce their energy costs, carbon emissions, operate more sustainably and comply with increasingly complex environmental regulation, both in the UK and internationally.

Joining together, our ‘One Team’ of over 2,500 professionals will continue to provide our clients with Net Zero and Climate Strategies, Strategic Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Management Systems.

ICL

ClearLead provides Technical Programme Management and mentoring support to ICL on its Global Energy Reduction programme. Around 15 of the company's largest sites account for approximately 75% of the total energy spend. 

The initial focus on these sites has involved mentoring the site engineering and production teams so that they became able to identify energy cost saving improvements themselves. This approach has been very successful in delivering many $millions of energy cost savings annually.

Under the EU Energy Efficiency Directive, EU Member States are required to introduce legislation to require all large enterprises to undergo an energy audit at least once every four years. The UK Government's response has been introduction of the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS).

ClearLead Consulting were engaged by Liverpool John Lennon Airport to carry out an energy audit to meet the scheme's requirements, in what was one of the first ESOS-compliant energy audits undertaken in the UK.
