ClearLead Consulting, in association with WSP and MarineSpace, have recently completed the assessment of options for seven inshore and offshore marine plans covering the North West, North East, South West and South East which are currently being prepared by the Marine Management Organisation (MMO).
This innovative piece of work featured the assessment of over 1500 options, the output of which will feed into the options development process and help to determine preferred options for each of the seven marine plans.
Options covered a wide spectrum of marine sectors, activities, natural processes as well as potential impacts and opportunities to improve the marine environment, including taking a natural capital approach.
ClearLead developed a bespoke assessment method utilising a database with graphical output. The method was well-received by the MMO planning team and enabled an effective and efficient assessment which is supporting the MMO in the next stage of their plan making process. In addition, the team provided advice to the MMO on their approach to options development to ensure that it is compliant with the requirements of the SEA Regulations.
ClearLead also supported the MMO in their liaison with the SA Advisory Group and ensured that advice gained from the SA Advisory Group is integrated into the SA.
