ClearLead were commissioned by the Council to carry out the SA and HRA of the revised Local Plan. (This followed a decision to withdraw the Local Plan from examination so that the full Objectively Assessed Need [OAN] for housing within the Derbyshire Dales for the period 2006-2028 could be reconsidered.)

We collated the District’s sustainability baseline data, and information about European sites which could be affected by the revised Local Plan. The report defined the scope of the sustainability appraisal, based on District’s key sustainability issues. Potential allocation sites were screened and assessed using GIS, then presented within the SA report for public consultation.

The Local Plan was adopted in 2017, with a subsequent adoption statement provided by ClearLead at the request of the client.
