James Patterson speaking on Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting at the Energy Institute’s 2019 Energy Efficiency Conference

James Patterson will be speaking on the UK Government’s new Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting(SECR) scheme at the Energy Institute’s 2019 Energy Efficiency Conference on 27th March 2019 in London.

SECR aims to extend the scope of existing mandatory greenhouse gas emissions reporting requirements that already apply to UK quoted companies, and will now also include all unquoted “large” companies as defined by the Companies Act of 2016, a definition which is expected to capture just under 12,000 UK companies. With the scheme starting in April 2019 and the first reports due as early as April 2020, James will be looking at the scope and coverage of the scheme, planned reporting mechanisms, and asking the question, is SECR really streamlined?
